Police/Army should represent a set of peoples values and principles. Their job would be to protect that regardless of which interest takes government.
Police/Army currently serve a state that swings through time, left and right. Factions take control of the state through government. If the state is anti-democratic, it is their job to serve the state regardless. They should represent a set of peoples values and principles. Their job would be to protect that regardless of which interest takes government. However this is only part of a solution because unchecked by politics they can turn into a military dictatorship. Ideas welcome.
