New play equipment for playground on the green

New play equipment for playground on the green

The children's play equipment on the green is a little tired and out of date. It would be great to have a wooden pirate ship and covered sand pit or a climbing wall.

Points

So many brighton and hove parks have incredibly parks from paddling pools and water sprinklers to modern slights and swims for multiple children. Ringmer park offers very little for our community and we need to improve this now!

There are 3 parks that I know of in the village, all could do with updating. Elphick park needs many things fixing. The big one on the green could do.with better equipment, people will travel to a good park so.could bring more business to local shops

I totally agree with this suggestion. I am a mother of an 8 year old and 4 year old and we visit a lot of play areas. Ringmer is always my last choice. It's ok for little ones, but it's boring and uninspiring for any children over the age of 5. Fun has been compromised in the name of safety. For ideas, visit Cooksbridge,Malling, or Landport, or even better, Hove Park. It is an amazing open space but I am frankly embarrassed of the play area. Does the person who designed this actually have kids?

I fully support the idea of revamping the children's play area on the village Green. It would be excellent to have equipment that suited a wider age group which is safe and user friendly. The current equipment is dated with a roundabout that is too stuff for the children to operate. A shaded area would be useful too.

I often go to parks in brighton and hove with my children as these have splash pools, sand pits and shade and climbing frames and spaces to challenge children and fuel their imagination. I live in ringmer though which means opportunities are missed for me and my children to socialise with people within our community. I feel that the parks are extremely under used especially the Elphick park in Broyle Lane which has had broken equipment for 2 years.

Slightly older children in the village get bored of the current play equipment in the park, it desperately needs updating, especially with the planned village housing developments in the future.

There are lots of fantastic playgrounds in Brighton and Hove but Ringmer and Lewes are really under served. The children's playground needs updating to appeal to older children and a covered area would mean it could be used in bad weather.

The Park on the green has not seen an update for years. Many parks now have wooden structures and sandpits. As a family we often travel out of the village to visit more stimulating parks. The lack of any sort of shade is also an issue.

The playground is in a fantastic location but suffers from lack of shade on hot days. There is little for older children, and for little ones who want to climb the current climbing frame and slide is too big. The Level playground in Brighton is a good example of combining suitable equipment for all ages and also includes sandpits and sprinklers. It would be great if people came to Ringmer to use the playground and other local facilities but it needs improvement for this to happen.

There is more than enough space to divide it into two halfs like Malling Park. One for tots and one god older kids with a picnic area inbetween.

The play equipment is in serious need of an update. The current facilities do not stimulate the children for a long period of time. Princess park in Eastbourne is a great example of what to include in a play park, including a 'wet area' for sunny days.

We need a sandpit and a paddling pool - the park is outdated and boring. There is no paddling pool for miles and it would bring income to the village. Hove lagoon is rammed in the summer, something like that would be fantastic!

A trip to Ringmer park is usually a short one as equipment is uninspiring compared to parks elsewhere. It would be wonderfil if it could be improved and become more of a community meeting place As so many parents from Ringmer travel further afield regularly to find a more suitable space. It would also encourage more visitors from local areas, bringing business to shops...even encouraging new businesses - a little tea room or cafe perhaps would benefit from nearby park attraction?

Ringer has welcomed many new families recently and with new homes to be built in the future, our children deserve a wonderful playpark. Full of safe stimulating equipment where they can let their imagination take over. It is in a fantastic location and is used so much that the village families and children deserve somewhere excellent to meet.

We really need a play area that supports all ages and has some shade/covered areas. A café would be good too in the Summer months (a bit like the grange in Lewes).

Ringmer Green and the surrounding panorama provides the most stunning setting for a play park. I like to stay local when I can and I think Ringmer, compared to many villages provides quite a number of practical community amenities and facilities. However, I do think the park could be considerably improved to provide a further incentive to stay local and avoid car travel. It would benefit hugely from more creative, imaginative and tactile play areas. And on a safety note, more shade is a must!

We are surrounded by fantastic parks in other areas - Brighton's parks are amazing. The majority of parks in Lewes are tired and not stimulating. Ringmer park needs a facelift to bring it up to date. The roundabout rarely works and the climbing frame dangerous for very young children with the drop on one side. We need a great park to keep our children happy!

The playground is a key location in the village for families with young children. It could reach a larger age-range if were modernised, perhaps along the lines of the Malling playground. With more families likely to move to the village in the near future, we need to invest in our young people and keep them active throughout the year.

Park isn't interesting enough for young creative minds. Needs a sandpit, shelters and a roundabout that works. It's bleak in winter with cold winds and waterlogged ground and there is no shade in summer. I prefer other parks in Lewes and other villages or as far as Brighton & Hove but would prefer to use my local park all year round. With more families moving in the park needs to be a place for parents and kids to socialise. Also needs to cater for infants up to tweens to keep kids active.

The current play area is very dated and really needs a facelift!

Desperately needs updating and replacing and more variety for age groups

It's a fabulous space and a wonderful asset, but there's not a great number of items for younger children. I think Hove Park by Toys R Us is a great model. Not so big as to take away the amazing field space, but better use of the area that's already fenced in.
