I think Nigeria does not need two chambers to make laws. It is time consuming, they duplicate each others action, and I believe the House of Representatives is a better reflection of Nigerians. All 36 states have only one chamber making laws and they do just fine so I believe we can do the same at the federal level. Also, the House of Representatives and the Senate are very expensive to maintain. We must let one of them go if we are serious about keeping recurrent expenditure down.
There is no justification for maintaining a Senate and a House of Representatives in Nigeria. We need laws to pass faster, we need to end this constant squabble between the two chambers, we need to end the power tussle between the two chambers, we need to stop bleeding the country dry to pay for their feeding, dressing, travels, medication, domestic staff, etc. Cutting off the salary, allowances, maintenance will save Nigeria billions annually which we can invest in education and healthcare.
