Sadly, many people are being made unemployed in the town. Providing a place offering retraining and upscaling in digital skills, combined with an incubator hub for start ups alongside established businesses can kick start a resilient digital economy. Please can we have a couple of floors in the Pump Station?
We need to build a resilient economy in our town, with a skilled workforce. The GVA (income) for this sector is over twice the average income in Eastbourne currently.
This could be one of the DigiHub functions.
Ther is much expertise within local social enterprises such as TechResort & the Eastbourne Eco Action Network CIC to help with organising digital skills training, and there is already a large digital creative tech sector in the town that can assist.
