Dunoon Army Cadets is a youth organisation which is part of Argyll (D) Company of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Battalion ACF. Argyll Company plan to take 40 young people on a Battlefield Tour in France and Belgium in October 2018. Before we can do that we must raise in the region of £20,000. 2018 marks 100 years since the guns fell silent at the end of WW1 and we would love to allow our young people to mark this event in this very special way.
The ACF is a youth organisation, we get funding for training equipment , resources and uniforms but rely on fundraising to take part in activities like this. We are not a recruiting step for the armed forces in any way, simply a youth organisation teaching the values of good citizenship, self confidence and assisting young people prepare for their future. This would be a truly once in a lifetime opportunity for our young people and such a special way to mark WW100. Many thanks in advance.
This is a fantastic opportunity for cadets to study the First World War as part of the school and cadet force curriculum. A once in a lifetime experience.
