CDAU (child development assessment unit) and COP (children's outpatients) appointments at Mater Dei are currently given in the mornings or early afternoons. However working mothers need to adjust their work schedule in order to attend to their children's appointments. This is not always possible. I am suggesting lengthening of opening hours to cover late afternoons or Saturday mornings. This would benefit working mothers especially those whose children have regular appointments. Thank you.
A friend of mine suggested that cdau should move into schools, which is another good option. At the moment students who have cdau appts miss on their schooling... sometimes even half a day for a 1-hour appt, considering the heavy traffic that there is on the roads. This also reduces the time that our children have in contact with their school peers
