Tourism needs to be considered as a socio cultural activity that benefits a wide stakeholder base including the local community. To do this we need to consider the aspect of ownership, sustainable tourism, quality of life for the host and the visitor. We should all have a say and a voice in the tourism activity.
We are not sufficiently catering for elderly and disabled tourists who need environments that are universally designed. This is a very important and ever increasing niche we should be catering for.......
John, I think this is availed point but if we make tourism a socio cultural activity then this will make it far more sustainable and user friendly. Tourism is not just an industry but an inclusive activity for all.
