Elect MPs on a national level, as MEPs - not by district

A lot of MPs are elected through familiarity/popularity within a particular town. Although this has its benefits, it also has its problems - mainly nepotism. Valid candidates who do not spend every Sunday morning at the local band or football club, but have interesting ideas of NATIONAL rather than local interest are at an obvious disadvantage. I therefore propose the elimination of the district concept, and propose to elect all 69 candidates at a national level, as we do for MEPs.

Points

It is so frustrating to be given such a limited choice of candidates, especially when voting for a small party!

Good idea! After all it is already done for European MEPs.
